Salaried employees and pensioners with straightforward income (salary/pension, one house property, interest) fall under ITR-1 at ₹399. If you're a freelancer or small business owner under the presumptive scheme, that's ITR-4 at ₹999. If you maintain full books of accounts for a business or profession, that's ITR-3 at ₹1,999.
